Each January marks the anniversary of the Roe Vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion throughout the United States. Even though that decision was recently reversed, abortion is still legal and very much alive in many states.
Thankfully, my home state of Tennessee is not one of them, and we can celebrate that the blood of innocent babies is no longer spilled upon our soil. But that doesn’t mean that Tennessee babies aren’t being destroyed. Many women are traveling to other states to have their babies aborted.
Will abortion ever become illegal in all fifty states? It can, but it won’t happen until one and only one thing happens. Our young women must have a change of heart.
While most young women today love and care for their children with all their heart, around twenty percent of pregnant women chose abortion. That’s currently over 900,000 lives lost annually.
Our young women need our prayers
They need to know that the child growing within them is a blessing and not a curse. For too long women have been fed a lie that children are a burden and a hindrance that will keep them from achieving their dreams. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, having children comes with a lot of self-sacrifice, but as every mother knows, while careers can be rewarding, motherhood fulfills us in a way like nothing else can.
As women, we are designed and created to be mothers and God has given us everything we need to fulfill that destiny. While motherhood certainly may not be our only destiny. It is our most important.
Will you join me in praying for America’s young women? They have been lied to and deceived by the enemy far too long and the harm and grief it has caused them is unimaginable.
Prayer for America’s women
Lord, please turn the hearts of our young women back from the desire to kill their babies. Many are confused and feel pressured to do the unthinkable. Some believe it’s the only way out of a desperate situation. Others don’t seem to care, but deep inside they are scared and the pain is almost unbearable.
You have a beautiful plan for each life that you create. There is no such thing as an unplanned pregnancy for your Word tells us that you knew each of us before we were even conceived. You have planned many blessings for both mother and her child.
May each young mother refuse to accept the lies that Satan tells them:
That they are not ready to be a mother
That abortion is the only way out
That their life will be over if they have this child
That they won’t be able to finish school
They will never be able to have a career
That they won’t be able to provide for him or her
That it’s not a human baby growing inside them
That post-abortion life will return to normal and they will never regret their decision
These are but a few of the lies that Satan feeds into our young girl’s minds to get them to destroy their child.
May each woman rise above the shame they may feel. May they love their baby more than any guilt or shame that could ever be put on them. May they listen to your voice and not to the voice of the enemy whose only desire is to steal from them, kill their child, and destroy their very life and soul.

When young women come to realize that their children are valuable in the eyes of God and deserve to live the life He has for them, abortion will end. Their convenience and comfort will become secondary to caring for and nurturing their child.
Loving one’s child is the most natural thing in the world for a woman. Let’s help our young mothers return to this instinct and the joys of motherhood by lifting them in prayer.

Although carrying a child to term is the right thing to do, it’s not always easy. These young mothers need more than just our prayers. They need loving counseling, encouragement, and financial support.
There are over 4,000 pregnancy resource centers across the United States that help meet the needs of these courageous women. Sadly, Pregnancy Resource Centers are increasingly coming under attack from our federal government. Our government is working to increase funds and easy accessibility to abortions throughout any term of pregnancy, but, strangely, wants to hinder women from getting any kind of help that may help them keep their babies.
May God give us leaders who respect and cherish life for all.
